The project covered the design of external water supply networks and of a set of construction dewatering measures for the duration of the works. It was developed with regard to the difficult geotechnical conditions of the site, including a high groundwater table and the potential for flooding. Solutions were adopted to ensure reliable pipe laying and the stability of structures. The scope includes the design of trunk water mains, water chambers and shut-off and control valves, plus a dewatering system for safe excavation work. The adopted solutions ensure reliable operation of the utility networks and minimise the risks of building in difficult hydrogeological conditions.
